Privacy Policy

At Pine Mobile Apps, we value your privacy and keep data collection to a minimum. This policy explains what information Drop Recipe handles, how, and your choices.

1. Data Stored on Your Device and iCloud

Your recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and preferences are stored on your device and synced via Apple iCloud (CloudKit) to your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. This data is protected by your Apple Account and Apple’s iCloud security, and is preserved even if you delete and reinstall the app. You can view or delete it in the app or through your device’s iCloud settings.

The optional profile details you add — your display name, a short bio, and a profile photo — are handled the same way: they stay on your device and in your private iCloud. We never receive them, and they are not shared with any third party. You can edit or remove them anytime from the Edit Profile screen.

2. Recipe Import and AI Features

When you import a recipe from a link, video, photo, or pasted text, or generate one with AI, that content is sent to our cloud recipe-processing service and to AI and transcription providers that extract or generate the recipe. We use it only to return the result and may cache the result to speed up future imports of the same source. We do not use this content to identify you.

3. Shared Recipe Links

If you choose to share a recipe, that recipe is uploaded to our servers and made available at a public link that anyone with the link can open. Only recipes you explicitly choose to share are uploaded — the rest of your library is never sent to us. Shared recipes are stored for up to one year and then deleted automatically.

4. Purchases

Drop Recipe offers optional in-app purchases — an auto-renewable subscription and/or a one-time purchase that unlock premium features. Purchases are processed by Apple, and we use a purchase-management provider to validate, restore, and manage your access. These providers receive the purchase and basic device information needed to deliver and validate it. We do not receive your full payment details.

5. Technical and Connection Data

When the app contacts our recipe-processing or sharing servers, our infrastructure providers automatically receive technical connection data — such as your device’s IP address and basic request information — to operate the service, prevent abuse, and keep it secure. This data is used only to run and protect the service, is not used to identify you or build a profile of you, and is kept only briefly. We protect data in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption and security practices.

6. Notifications

To keep your recipes and lists in sync across your devices, your device may receive silent background notifications through Apple’s iCloud and push services. We do not send marketing or promotional push notifications, and these notifications are not used to track you.

7. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted third-party services to deliver core features of the app. We only share the minimum information necessary for these features to function, and all providers process data under strict privacy and security terms. We use providers in the following categories:

• Cloud Infrastructure & Data Storage: To securely host app features, process recipes, and store shared content.
• AI & Content Processing Services: To extract recipe details from websites, process media transcripts, and generate AI-assisted recipe formatting based on the links or text you provide.
• Web Data Aggregation: To safely fetch public metadata (like article titles or thumbnails) when you import a recipe from a URL.
• Subscription & Payment Management: To securely process App Store purchases, validate subscriptions, and manage your premium access.
• Platform Sync Services: To sync your recipe library across your personal devices via your platform account.

8. No Advertising or Tracking

Drop Recipe does not use cookies, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking, does not collect your data for advertising, and does not sell your data.

9. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed to provide the app. Your recipes, plans, lists, and profile details stay on your device and in your iCloud until you delete them. Imported-recipe results may be cached briefly to speed up repeat imports. Shared recipes are deleted automatically after up to one year. Server connection logs are kept only for a short period for security and then discarded.

10. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers located in countries other than your own. Wherever your data is processed, we require providers to protect it under privacy and security terms consistent with this policy.

11. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Because most of your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you can view, edit, or delete it at any time within the app or through your iCloud settings — including your recipes, lists, and profile details. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal data we hold, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. 13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
